Race Description & Timeline 50K Ultra Marathon

 

REV3Endurance Conquer the Mountain 50K Ultra Marathon.  We have selected this location because it offers some of the best views in the country during the fall foliage parade of colors.  Mother Nature has blessed us with an awesome location that lets you view the beautiful colors of fall in both Virginia and West Virginia on this course.  This event will challenge intermediate and advanced runners as they conquer the mountains around Wolf Gap Winery.  Runners will run a marked course which will consist of paved roads, gravel roads and mountain trails.  This course will not have any major stream crossings.  All racers should be able to keep their feet dry during the race.  The race route will be marked with directional arrows and cones for turns on the course. No navigational skills needed. All runners will start & finish the event at Wolf Gap Vinyard & Winery.  Each runner will get a shirt, medal, aid station stops a, & a post-race vineyard social which includes a meal, glass of wine, and live music!  A generous11 Hour Cut-Off Time (20.5 minute/mile average pace).

The Wolf Gap Winery Half Marathon is a beautiful course which traverses the wine foothills of Shenandoah County's Great North Mountain without significant elevation gain/loss. The course does have hills in the farmland areas where you will have several scenic views of the fall mountain folliage in the distance. The race starts and ends at Wolf Gap Vinyard & Winery. The race route will be marked with directional arrows and cones for turns on the course. No navigational skills needed. All runners will start & finish the event at Wolf Gap Vinyard & Winery.  Each runner will get a shirt, medal, aid station stops a, & a post-race vineyard social which includes a meal, glass of wine, and live music!

Race Packet Pickup

Packet pickup location will be at Bryce Resort. It is required that all forms be completely filled out and signed for each racer.  You will get your bib number, race t-shirt and review course map at packet pick-up. 

​

Aide Station Descriptions Provided By Rev3Endurance

Electrolyte drinks, water, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. 

​

Mandatory Equipment (Responsibility of each Racer)

• Enough food and water for the event (aid stations with water, Gatorade and snacks will be on the course)

• Cell phone fully charged

If there is severe weather, the race start may be postponed or the course may be shortened.
