Race Description  35 Mile Gravel Grinder

 

The 35 Mile Conquer the Mountain Gravel Grinder is a mountainous course offering scenic views of the local mountains, foothills, and fall foliage as you climb and navigate your way across this beautiful and scenic course! Riders will run a marked course which will consist of paved & gravel roads.  This course will not have any major stream crossings. You will walk your bike across a foot bridge for 30 feet at one spot. All racers should be able to keep their feet dry during the race.  The race route will be marked with directional arrows and cones for turns on the course.  GPS back-up is recommended. The course features 4,500' +/- in elevation. All racers will start & finish the event at Lake Laura, Bayse, VA.  Each racer will get a shirt, medal, aid station stops, a generous cut-off time, and post race meal & campfire!

Race Timelines:

 

​Friday October 11th, 2024

​

  • 5:30 - 7:30PM Early Packet Pick-Up @ Lake Laura

    • Receive your race bib, shirt, check-in, etc. the day prior. Simply arrive to the start line the race day!


Saturday October 12th, 2024​​

​

  • 7:00 - 8:00am Packet Pick-Up

  • 8:00am Pre-Race Brief

  • 8:30am Race Start for All Bike Races!

  • 11:30pm Hot Food Ready!

  • 12:00pm Awards!

    • Awards must be received at the Awards Ceremony. Awards cannot be mailed or given prior. â€‹

  • 2:00pm - No Later than Finish Time for All Racers.​​​​​​

Registration Fees - All Bike Races

  • $85.00  before July 1st

  • $95.00 before August 1st

  • $105.00 before October1st

    • ​Registrations 5 weeks before the race are not guaranteed a shirt.

Race Packet Pickup

Packet pickup location will be at Lake Laura at Bryce Resort. It is required that all forms be completely filled out and signed for each racer.  You will get your bib number, race t-shirt and review course map at packet pick-up. 

​

Aide Station Descriptions Provided By Rev3Endurance

Electrolyte drinks, water, and a variety of sweet and salty snacks. 

​

Mandatory Equipment (Responsibility of each Racer)

  • Enough food and water for the event (aid stations with water, Gatorade and snacks will be on the course)

  • Cell phone fully charged
